  18. FE is a windowed, multi-document editor with easy to use pull-down menus and
  19. fully integrated mouse control.  
  20.  
  21. I'm sure that you will find FE so easy to use that you'll be able to begin
  22. using it immediately!   FE uses industry standard mouse and keyboard commands,
  23. but be sure to read through the FE.DOC file so you wont miss out on any of
  24. FE's time-saving features.

  26. INSTALLATION
  27.  
  28. Installing FE is as easy as copying FE.* to any directory in your path.
  29. You can put FE in it's own directory (check your DOS manual for details on
  30. how to create directories and copy files) and then add that directory to 
  31. your path by changing your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to include the line:
  32.  
  33. 'PATH=C:\FE'
  34.  
  35. Replace the drive and directory (C:\FE) with wherever you located FE.
  36.  
  37. Or if your AUTOEXEC.BAT file already contains the PATH command just add
  38. a semicolon to the end and add the directory containing FE.  For example:

  40. 'PATH=C:\;C:\DOS;C:\PROGRAMS\MISC;C:\FE'

  42. (Make sure that FE.EXE and FE.OVR are accessable from any directory!)

  45. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
  46.  
  47. The name 'FE' stands for Fred's Editor because I created it, but also (as
  48. you saw above) the word 'fe' in the Spanish language means faith (as in 
  49. Santa fe - holy faith).  The word faith has meant a lot to me during the 
  50. past five years. 
  51.  
  52. I grew up programming computers.  The night my Dad brought home my first 
  53. computer, I stayed up all night reading the manual and learned to program.  
  54. But a number of years later, when in high school, I began to throw my life 
  55. away by giving into the pressures of 'friends' and began to be heavily 
  56. involved with drugs.  
  57.  
  58. To make a long story short, I'm very lucky (fortunate) to be alive, and I 
  59. can only say that Jesus Christ was the One Who changed me.  
  60.  
  61. It turns out that many of my 'friends' were into satanism and I always 
  62. thought that was a big joke until the night they tried to initiate me into 
  63. their little cult.  I realized that the devil was very real, that night, 
  64. and he wasn't just a guy in a red suit that you might see at the end of your
  65. life.  I came very close to giving my life to Satan, but something (SomeOne)
  66. inside me made me keep on resisting what they were pushing.  I thought I had
  67. to be dreaming when I saw the things (supernatural things) that were 
  68. happening around me, but I couldn't deny it was real.

  70. So I ran from the devil and ended up in the arms of God.  I would pray to 
  71. Him in my room and immediately feel His presence all around me.  I would ask 
  72. Him to show Himself real to me and He would.  I completely lost all desire 
  73. for drugs and began to seek the Lord with all my heart.  One day I gave Jesus 
  74. complete control of my life, and since then I've become a brand new person.  
  75. My wife has a similar testimony since she also committed her life to the 
  76. Lord (She was one of the 'friends' and you would not recognize her if you 
  77. knew her then and saw her now).

  79. The Bible says that, "...ALL have sinned and have fallen short of the glory 
  80. of God,".  You may not have had the problems that I did, but without a 
  81. relationship with the Creator of the universe, you are still heading in the
  82. same direction as I was.  The Bible also says, "...but the gift of God is 
  83. eternal life."  All you need to do is receive what Jesus did for you on the 
  84. cross and you can be set free.  Just pray and ask God to forgive you and 
  85. set you free from the power of the sinful nature, and you can become a 
  86. brand new person.  If you want to do that right now, just pray this prayer
  87. from your heart, "Lord Jesus, I realize that you cannot stand sin but you
  88. loved me so much that You sent Your only Son to pay the penalty for my sin.
  89. I receive that sacrifice right now, and I ask You to forgive me and come 
  90. into my heart and change my life.  I confess that Jesus is Lord of my life!
  91. Thank you! In Jesus Name, Amen."
